Two bomb exploded on Tuesday near Hyderi market in North Nazimabad, Karachi, killing at least 6 people including a little girl. Many people have also been injured in the blasts. Most of the wounded are believed to be women and children.
According to initial reports, one of the bombs was planted on a motorcycle, while the other one, of less intensity, was planted near a tree. Karachi bomb disposal squad says improvised explosive devices (IED) were used in the attack.
Rescue services have arrived at the scene and at least 10 people have been rushed to hospital.
Bohra community leader Sheikh Mohammad Azzi says the blasts were targeted at his community, who predominantly live in areas surrounding Hyderi market.
The blasts also destroyed two vehicles and damaged several others parked nearby.
