Tickets for a creative thinking conference in Cardiff have sold out minutes after the sale opened, Cardiff University have said.

On March 31st the Wales Millennium Centre will host the conference sponsored by Cardiff University for the popular event. Tickets went on sale on January 23 and were sold out after just 20 minutes.

After three years of TEDxCardiff organizers were expecting a sold out event but had no idea that the event would be so popular. Entrepreneur Neil Cocker, who manages the volunteers that shape the event said:

"After selling out in under an hour last year we were confident that we'd sell out again this year, but to do it in 20 minutes is beyond our wildest expectations.

"We're over the moon and are now even more determined to make it a very special event."

TED (technology, entertainment and design) is an annual conference, initially created in California in 1984.

The idea of hosting inspirational speakers has now spread globally.

TEDxCardiff will be available online on www.TEDxCardiff.co.uk.
