£500,000 worth of heroin found in Fife

A man, 43, and a woman, 30, from the village of Thornton, north of Edinburgh, have been arrested after a drugs haul found £500,000 worth of heroin, and £20,000 worth of cannabis plants.

A 44 year-old man from Cardenden is also being reported in connection with the offence.

Det Supt Colin Beattie, of Fife Constabulary said:

"The public can be rest assured that our staff have the knowledge and skills to deal with drug dealing on this scale, but we still need their help in building as full an intelligence picture as we can to establish how these organised crime groups are operating in our communities."
