Occupy Edinburgh hit by discrimination allegations

The Occupy Edinburgh camp has been hit with allegations of bullying, sexism and anti-semitism.

A student who left the camp claims that organisers have allowed protesters to be phsyically intimidated, that female protesters have been made to feel unsafe and that any views that go against the organisers have been shut down.

It has been claimed that debates have also been steered towards criticism of “Jewish bankers”.

Kate Harris said in her blog that she left the camp in disgust.

Camp organisers have denied the claims, saying that there is no discrimination against women, that is welcomes open debate and that its security is in place to protect the protesters.
